The Semiconductor (BSEMI) Division is the leader in advanced X-ray and AFM metrology for the silicon and compound semiconductor industries. The BSEMI division offers the most comprehensive portfolio of tools, based on AFM and X-ray technologies including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging).

We are seeking an Applications Scientist to support our X-ray activities; in particular, XCD (X-ray Critical Dimension analysis).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert support to worldwide field service engineer teams remotely and on-site.
  • Troubleshoot complex system problems using strong problem-solving techniques.
  • Manage customer escalation supplying solutions and plan of action while coordinating needed resources through the organization.
  • Install systems in customer facilities, execute standard install tests, meet overall installation schedule, and ensure that system performance meets specifications.
  • Train and create training documentation.
  • Execute complex system repairs in a quality manner and timely fashion.
  • Initiate processes to improve customer experience.
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Support the core technology, engineering, and production teams in the qualification of new technologies, algorithms, methodologies, software, and hardware features.
  • Feed back customer requirements and interests for hardware and software development.
  • Ensure that the product is functioning according to specifications including inspection of the tools prior to shipment and following installation.
Qualifications:
  • Solid theoretical understanding of physics and electronics to enable problem solving of complex system and application issues.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and collaborate on projects that involve people from different teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and presentation skills with MS Office proficiency.
  • Customer interaction and training skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
