A leading Global Bank is seeking to recruit a legal counsel in the Asset Servicing Legal Team based in Manchester. The bank is a market leader in Asset Servicing and Digital Assets and is at the cutting edge of using Technology and AI. Asset Servicing primarily provides fund accounting, transfer agency, middle office, custody and sub-custody services.

The Role:

  • Serving as a trusted internal resource and key legal advisor.
  • Liaising with a variety of key stakeholders.
  • Managing the drafting and negotiation of a variety of service agreements with clients, and related provider agreements with third party banks that underpin the bank's custody service offering.
  • Working collaboratively, seeking guidance and input from colleagues throughout the organization to ensure solutions align to global legal strategies.
  • Partnering with colleagues who also serve in an advisory or oversight capacity, such as those in Risk, Audit, Compliance, etc.
  • Managing outside counsel, reviewing work for appropriateness, quality and alignment to expectations.
  • Developing a broad understanding of the bank's products and services.

Candidate Profile:

  • A qualified lawyer with Private Practice or financial services experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Financial Services industry (e.g., Investment Servicing or Investment Management or Custody or Banking or Digital Assets).

Helpful Relevant experience:

  • Exposure to and interest in asset management and/or financial institutions practice, technology, digital assets (e.g. cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets), distributed ledger technology, and/or data and analytics, AI experience.

Please note the bank operates a flexible working pattern with 4 days/week in the office.
