Our client is a leading global alternative asset management firm operating across multiple private market strategies, is undertaking a major firm-wide tax modernisation initiative.
Historically, individual fund strategies operated with independent reporting processes and data environments. The firm is now consolidating its operational tax functions into a unified, enterprise-wide data framework to streamline compliance, reporting, and investor documentation across all investment arms.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Analyst to support this key transformation. In this role, you will play a central part in aggregating, validating, and harmonizing critical tax documentation and investor datasets across a complex global fund network.
Responsibilities
- Data Aggregation & Standardisation: Consolidate entity and investor registers from various fund structures into unified formats. Audit source data, track data provenance, and flag quality discrepancies for review.
- Tax Documentation Governance: Identify, track, and catalogue relevant investor tax forms (e.g., W-8 series, self-certifications). Coordinate with third-party fund administrators to retrieve outstanding or expired documentation and update master tracking datasets.
- Form Validation & Review: Perform completeness and validity checks on tax documentation against standardised regulatory and internal benchmarks, escalating complex queries appropriately.
- Data Extraction & Reconciliation: Accurately extract key tax attributes from investor documentation into a central dataset, cross-referencing information across multiple internal and external data sources to resolve discrepancies.
- Enterprise Integration Support: Collaborate with internal tax and data leads to assist in mapping clean, validated operational tax data into the firm’s central data warehouse architecture.
Impact of the Role
The output of your work will serve as the core foundation for the firm’s operational tax transformation—establishing a single, governed source of truth for global investor and entity data that underpins ongoing AEOI (FATCA/CRS) compliance and withholding tax reporting.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Advanced Data Handling: Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions such as INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, data cleaning, and complex reconciliations across disparate systems).
- Tax & Regulatory Exposure: Practical familiarity with operational tax compliance, regulatory reporting, or investor onboarding processes—specifically covering FATCA, CRS, and US tax forms (W-8/W-9). Relevant background in KYC/AML documentation is a strong advantage.
- Financial Services Background: Prior experience working within asset management, private equity, fund administration, or financial services compliance/tax operations environments.
- Data Integration Awareness: Experience or comfort working alongside data engineering/architecture teams to feed structured data into enterprise databases.
