Salary: Competitive + Benefits + Performance Bonus

WFH: 3 days office-based

Reporting to: Head of Employment

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Advising on all aspects of employment law, including employment-related regulatory issues such as the application of the SMCR and the FCA’s Code of Conduct.
  • Providing legal support to the group throughout the entire employee life cycle.
  • Supporting the corporate and commercial legal functions.
  • Advising on regulatory issues associated with financial services and banking.
  • Liaising with external counsel.
  • Providing advice on compensation arrangements, including on the operation of malus and clawback, deferred compensation arrangements and remuneration policies.
  • Providing employment law training to the People team and wider business.
  • Instructing and working with outside counsel where necessary on specialist matters.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer or similar qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong technical employment law experience and good knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Some prior in-house experience would be beneficial, ideally in financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Strong experience supporting growing businesses on international employment law and HR matters.
  • Capable of working independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong expertise in drafting employment documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong listening skills.
