Senior Audit Manager - Insurance

I am working with a London insurer looking for an Internal Auditor to lead a Q4 review of their second line assurance activity.

Their Risk and Compliance functions each carry out around six assurance reviews a year, Risk through topical deep dives and Compliance through its monitoring programme, both to an established methodology. This audit is about whether those methodologies are sound and whether they work in practice.

The scope covers:

• The Risk Deep Dive and Compliance Monitoring methodologies, including how assurance priorities are set and how engagements are planned, executed and reported
• Follow up, and whether remediation is completed properly and on time, or risk accepted through a proper process
• Governance reporting and management visibility of findings
• A sample of assurance engagements, to test how the processes work in practice

What they are looking for:

• Someone who can lead an engagement end to end with limited oversight
• Good understanding of the assurance lifecycle and strong awareness of different methodologies
• Experience of second line Risk or Compliance, either from auditing those functions or having worked in one. Compliance monitoring backgrounds will be considered
• Insurance experience helpful but not essential

Around three days a week across October and November, with December used to close out queries. Stakeholders are London based and in the office regularly, so some office attendance is expected. Possible scope to extend.
