Consultant – Finance, Accounting & Tax at Bruin Financial

A leading Global Investment Bank are looking to hire a Product Controller within their Equity Derivatives Finance team. The team covers day to day P&L, Balance Sheet, and Valuation control across EMEA.

Job Title: Equities Product Control VP/AVP

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days in office per week)

Duration: Permanent

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily profit and loss, balance sheet, and valuation control activities for the business across the EMEA region.
  • Investigate valuation discrepancies and collaborate with front office, risk, operations, and finance teams to resolve issues.
  • Analyze and explain key drivers of profit and loss and balance sheet movements, providing insights for management reporting.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate accounting policies and procedures in coordination with the Accounting Policy team, ensuring compliance with relevant financial reporting standards.
  • Review and enhance valuation control methodologies, maintain accurate documentation, and support process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Contribute to governance, audit, and internal control processes, and provide financial oversight on new products, systems, and accounting policy changes.

Preferred background:

  • Good working knowledge of accounting concepts, preferably with a relevant qualification.
  • Experience of a control environment within a Bank, Hedge Fund, or Pension House.
  • Knowledge of accounting for financial instruments.
  • Experience within a Global Markets setting.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
