An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Leader to join a growing procurement function supporting a major long-term infrastructure and investment programme in the North West. This is a highly visible role where you'll lead sourcing and contracting activities across large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver commercial value, mitigate risk, and support critical programme objectives. You'll have the opportunity to influence procurement strategy, drive supplier performance, and play a key role in shaping the future of a significant investment programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing and tendering activities, from strategy development through to contract award
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with business objectives and stakeholder requirements
- Provide commercial and supply chain expertise across major delivery programmes
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure best value and favourable commercial outcomes
- Manage contractual and procurement-related risks, issues, and liabilities
- Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships
- Produce and maintain high-quality procurement and contractual documentation
- Support the development and execution of wider supply chain strategies
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and relevant regulations
- Provide leadership and line management support within the procurement team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Proven procurement or supply chain experience within the construction, infrastructure, or major projects sector
- Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contract frameworks
- A solid understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and commercial best practice
- Experience managing supplier performance and contractual relationships
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving project environment
- MCIPS qualification or working towards MCIPS would be highly advantageous
