We are working with a highly regarded UK wealth and investment management firm to appoint a Business Development Manager to cover the North West region. This role sits within an established intermediary distribution team and focuses on promoting multi-asset investment solutions, model portfolios, and fund offerings to UK financial advisers and intermediary firms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing relationships, opening new IFA partnerships, and driving both new business and asset retention across the region. Working closely with investment teams and central proposition specialists, this role combines relationship-led sales with strong technical investment conversations.
This opportunity would suit an experienced regional IFA sales professional who is commercially driven, highly credible with advisers, and comfortable operating autonomously within a defined region selling both funds and solutions.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Developing and growing relationships with UK intermediary firms across the region
- Promoting investment solutions including bespoke portfolios, MPS, and fund offerings
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities while supporting retention of existing assets
- Delivering face-to-face and virtual meetings with advisers, platforms, and professional partners
- Communicating investment views, market insights, and product positioning clearly and credibly
- Working closely with investment managers to support regional growth initiatives
- Contributing to marketing campaigns, adviser communications, and sales collateral
- Attending and speaking at relevant seminars, conferences, and adviser events
- Capturing market intelligence and feedback to support proposition development
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and sales reporting (Salesforce)
- Ensuring all activity is compliant and aligned with regulatory and Consumer Duty requirements
- Proactively following up marketing and event activity to maintain strong engagement levels
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in business development or account management within UK intermediary markets
- Strong existing knowledge of adviser firms and distribution networks in the region
- Sound understanding of investment products, financial markets, and regulatory requirements
- Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Confident communicator, able to engage advisers, investment professionals, and internal stakeholders
- Commercially driven, relationship-focused, and well organised
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with wider teams
