A leading global private markets manager is looking for a VP of Internal Audit to join its London team. This is an autonomous role in a new team that you will help grow, support on strategy and help complete the audit plan. This would be a good fit for someone who wants to own the delivery of the audit programme, not just contribute to it.
Sitting within the third line of defence, you'll provide independent assurance to the Board, Executive and Audit Committee on the design and effectiveness of the firm's internal controls. You'll work closely with the Head of Internal Audit and act as their delegate when needed
What you'll be doing:
- Owning the successful delivery of the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan
- Scoping and delivering individual audit reviews across the firm with technical rigour and a practical, commercial lens
- Producing clear, structured audit reports and tracking remediation of findings through to closure
- Reporting Internal Audit MI to senior governance forums including the Executive, Board, Risk and Audit Committees
- Supporting the periodic risk assessment and shaping the methodology, processes and templates of the function
- Building trusted-adviser relationships across investment and business operations teams
- Managing ad-hoc assurance reviews and deep dives into strategic initiatives
What they're looking for:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in investment management internal audit (private equity exposure a plus)
- A qualified audit professional (ACA / ACCA / CIA or equivalent)
- A proven track record of defining and delivering firm-wide audit plans in a complex matrix organisation
- Strong experience across the full audit lifecycle, from scoping and planning through to testing, agreeing actions and reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to draft precise, structured reports
- The credibility to influence the Board, Executive, Audit and Risk Committees and investment teams
- Experience working in a regulated environment
This role suits a genuine self-starter: someone comfortable owning workstreams end to end, making sound judgements independently, and managing competing priorities to deadline without close supervision.
