Our client is a dynamic, entrepreneurial Family Office based in Dubai, overseeing a diverse portfolio of investments and operating businesses across multiple sectors and geographies. The Family Office is seeking a highly experienced HR Director to build, lead, and continuously evolve a fit-for-purpose people strategy in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. This is a senior, trusted advisor role requiring exceptional judgement, discretion, and the ability to operate both strategically and hands on. The HR Director will play a critical role in shaping culture, strengthening leadership capability, and ensuring robust governance while supporting rapid growth and change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership
    • Design and deliver a pragmatic, scalable HR and people strategy aligned with the family's long term objectives and values.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the Principal, Board, and senior leadership on all people related matters.
    • Build a high performance culture balancing professionalism, confidentiality, and entrepreneurial agility.
    • Support organisational design, succession planning, and leadership development across the portfolio.
  • HR Operations & Governance
    • Establish and continuously improve core HR frameworks, policies, and processes suitable for a family office environment.
    • Ensure compliance and relevant international employment regulations.
    • Oversee employee relations, performance management, and complex people issues with sound judgement and sensitivity.
    • Implement and optimize HR systems, data, and reporting as required.
  • Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning
    • Lead executive and niche hiring across the Family Office and operating businesses, including senior leadership appointments.
    • Develop approaches to talent attraction, retention, and reward in highly competitive markets.
    • Drive learning, development, and capability-building initiatives, particularly at leadership level.
    • Support Emiratisation initiatives where applicable.
  • Culture, Engagement & Trust
    • Champion the Family Office's values and desired behaviours across all levels.
    • Build strong engagement, wellbeing, and communication practices in a high pressure environment.
    • Operate with absolute discretion when handling sensitive family, leadership, and employee matters.
  • Portfolio & Stakeholder Support
    • Provide HR leadership and guidance to portfolio companies as required (hands on or advisory).
    • Partner with external advisors (legal, immigration, payroll, rewards, search) as appropriate.
    • Support M&A activity from a people and integration perspective where relevant.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience & Background
    • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role (HR Director / Head of HR / VP HR) within a family office, Technology, private investment environment, founder led business, or fast growing multinational.
    • Demonstrated track record of building HR functions, leading change, and supporting scale-up environments.
    • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
  • Skills & Attributes
    • Highly credible, commercially minded HR leader with strong influencing skills.
    • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.
    • Exceptional judgement, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
    • Pragmatic, solutions-focused, and resilient in high-expectation settings.
    • Able to navigate ambiguity and work at pace without extensive infrastructure.
  • Qualifications
    • Degree in HR, Business, Law, or related discipline.
    • Professional HR qualification (e.g. CIPD or equivalent) strongly preferred.
