I am recruiting for a Corporate Tax Manager to join a well established independent Accountancy firm with a multi-office, national Tax team of around 55 people.
Why consider working for my client?
- The firm is independently owned, has no private equity backing and intends to remain independent.
- It also places considerable emphasis on work life balance, with excessive working hours actively monitored and senior management remaining visible and approachable.
- The internal working policy also gives employees significant flexibility around when and where they work, subject to client and team commitments.
- There is also clear scope to progress, develop commercially and take on increasing responsibility as your career develops.
While this is an advisory focused role you do not need to be an expert across every area of CT.
The team already has specialists across different disciplines, so they are more interested in finding someone with good advisory experience and a good relationship builder.
Depth in some areas would also be beneficial but mainly an interest to broaden your exposure over time is key
- Depending on your background, your experience could include areas such as:
- Corporate reorganisations and restructuring
- M&A, acquisitions and disposals
- Tax due diligence
- R&D tax
- Property tax
- Enterprise Investment Schemes
- Corporate Interest Restriction
- Wider corporate tax planning
The plan for the new Manager will be to manage your own portfolio of corporate clients, working directly with senior stakeholders and providing practical, commercially focused tax advice.
You will also work closely with specialists across the wider national Tax team, giving you access to expertise in areas outside your own technical background.
You should ideally have
- ACA or equivalent, CTA qualification
- Corporate tax advisory experience within practice
- Experience managing client relationships
- The ability to provide practical and commercially focused tax advice
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
- An interest in developing broader technical exposure over time
- Progression
- A clear route to senior leadership with plenty of examples in the team
- Progression is not based on waiting for someone above you to leave as the Tax practice is growing and actively looking for people who can take on more responsibility
- You can build your own profile rather than sit in a narrow technical silo, with scope to develop client relationships, win work and shape the direction of the practice
- The firm intends to remain independent, so long term progression is tied to growing the existing business rather than integrating into a PE backed group or larger consolidator
