Equity Execution Trader, VP – Investment Manager

A leading global investment organisation is seeking a VP-level Equity Trader to join its Execution function in London. This role sits within the Global Trading team which is responsible for implementing investment decisions across global public markets.

The Team

The Global Trading team executes trades across equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Their mandate is to deliver best-in-class execution for portfolio managers while providing differentiated market intelligence. The team places strong emphasis on talent development, technology, and deep external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Execute trades across EMEA cash equities and equity derivatives, using both electronic and voice execution methods.
• Partner with portfolio managers to manage execution risk and implement investment views efficiently.
• Generate market insights, synthesising themes and flow intelligence for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with quantitative and technology teams to analyse trading data and enhance execution tools, including automation, pre/post-trade analytics, and surveillance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, liquidity providers, and external counterparties.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant experience trading EMEA equities and derivatives.
• Strong programming ability in Python (or willingness to develop these skills).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, with high attention to detail.
• Dynamic, resilient, collaborative, and self-motivated.
