To serve as a senior investment operations and data specialist supporting Global Equity, Investment Services, and other enterprise stakeholders, with particular responsibility for complex investment instruments including Total Return Swaps (TRS). The role acts as a trusted partner to investment teams, providing subject matter expertise across portfolio construction, trade lifecycle management, investment data governance, collateral and settlement processes, and fund oversight activities.

The successful candidate will lead the resolution of complex investment data, trade, and operational issues, partnering with portfolio managers, traders, counterparties, custodians, fund accountants, and internal operational teams to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of investment and fund data. The role will also drive process improvement initiatives, contribute to strategic projects, and provide oversight of critical operational activities to support investment decision-making and risk management.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the equity investment process and investment operations lifecycle, with specialist expertise in Total Return Swaps and other derivative instruments, including portfolio implementation, trade management, lifecycle events, reconciliations, and settlement.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior operational and investment data contact for Global Equity, Enterprise Investment Services, and other enterprise stakeholders, providing subject matter expertise across investment data, trading activity, and portfolio oversight.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to investment teams, helping to resolve complex issues and support investment decision-making.
  • Provide specialist oversight of Total Return Swap activity and associated operational processes, including trade capture, lifecycle events, collateral management, reconciliations, settlements, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Partner closely with counterparties, custodians, fund accountants, and investment teams to ensure seamless execution and operational integrity.
  • Lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex investment data, trade, and operational issues. Perform root cause analysis, identify control gaps, and implement both tactical and strategic solutions to improve data quality, operational resilience, and risk management.
  • Oversee critical operational processes and controls to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of investment and fund data. Act as a senior escalation point for issues impacting portfolios, investment teams, or client outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across investment operations and data management functions. Identify opportunities to enhance processes, automate workflows, strengthen controls, and improve service delivery while influencing stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in assigned asset classes, investment products, funds, and securities. Understand the end-to-end operational and portfolio impacts of investment activities, market events, corporate actions, and derivative lifecycle events.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including portfolio management, trading, risk, fund accounting, custodians, counterparties, technology teams, and external data providers. Leverage these relationships to proactively address issues and implement best practices.
  • Lead or play a significant role in new product launches, strategic initiatives, and operating model enhancements. Gather and validate business requirements, evaluate operational readiness, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and ensure successful implementation and post-launch support.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of operational policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and control environments. Ensure processes remain scalable, well-documented, and aligned with evolving business and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing technical expertise, promoting best practices, and supporting team development. Provide guidance on complex issues and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of industry developments, market infrastructure, regulatory changes, and evolving investment products, applying this knowledge to strengthen operational capabilities and client outcomes.
  • Participate in strategic projects and perform additional responsibilities as required.
Preferred Experience
  • Significant experience supporting equity and derivative investment strategies within asset management, asset servicing, or investment operations environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Total Return Swaps, including portfolio construction support, trade lifecycle management, collateral processes, reconciliations, and settlement.
  • Strong understanding of front-to-back investment operations and the end-to-end investment lifecycle.
  • Experience working directly with portfolio managers, traders, counterparties, custodians, and fund accountants.
  • Proven ability to lead complex problem-solving initiatives and drive process improvements across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across a matrix organisation.
