Job Title: AWS Technical Lead
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Application Engineering Technical Lead with deep expertise in AWS to drive the design, development, and integration of critical applications and cloud solutions. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring high-quality deliverables, guiding teams, and shaping our technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction, design, implementation, and integration of software, middleware, and infrastructure solutions across multiple platforms.
- Act as the go-to technical authority for complex projects, ensuring architecture and solutions meet business and security requirements.
- Review, approve, and oversee technical deliverables, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
- Conduct testing and validation of solutions, including performance, functionality, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
- Evaluate technical options, provide recommendations, and influence stakeholders on strategic technology decisions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, architecture standards, and development practices; mentor and upskill team members.
- Author and review technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and process standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve development methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Contribute to design/code reviews, milestone reporting, and cross-team technical consultations.
- Ensure all solutions comply with IT and Information Security policies.
- Support special projects and broader technology initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong hands-on software engineering background with proven technical leadership experience.
- Expertise in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, S3) and security integrations.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, API design, and automated testing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub source control and GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience with third-party SaaS integrations and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation).
- Strong knowledge of software design principles and modern SDLC practices.
- Background in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the financial services sector (desirable).
- AWS certifications (advantageous).
