My client, a leading British Insurance firm, are looking to hire an Accounts Payable Analyst to join their team on an 18-month FTC to provide maternity cover. This is a close-knit team responsible for all the processing and payment of invoices and employee expenses.

Location: London (Hybrid - 4 days in office per week)

Duration: 18 month Fixed-Term Contract

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase invoices, expense claims, requisitions, and payment authorisations, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the AP system.
  • Maintain supplier and employee records, including onboarding/leavers, bank details, and active vendor listings within Oracle.
  • Manage the AP mailbox, handling supplier queries, invoice/payment issues, and saving invoices appropriately.
  • Perform reconciliations including supplier statements, credit card and petty cash spend, cash breaks, and T&E reporting.
  • Execute weekly payment runs, manual payments, and AP-related journals, ensuring compliance with approval limits.
  • Support system integrity through quarterly AP system testing, raising Oracle queries, and maintaining fixed asset registers.
  • Contribute to month-end activities including AP close, transfer pricing tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on ad hoc requests and play an active role in finance transformation and process-improvement projects.

Qualifications:

  • Over 2 years' experience within Accounts Payable, ideally within Financial Services.
  • Good knowledge of financial controls and experience with reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and organisation skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and influencing skills, with the confidence to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
