Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join a leading private equity firm as an SPV Controller to join its Luxembourg team. The role involves overseeing the financial operations of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) within the firm\’s investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with Luxembourg accounting standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Manage Financial Operations: Oversee all financial aspects of SPVs, ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained in the Investran system and that financial risks are effectively controlled and escalated when necessary.
- Prepare Financial Statements: Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Lux GAAP, ensuring timely submission to the eCDF and RCS.
- Coordinate Audits: Prepare audit documentation and liaise with auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes.
- Handle Cash Management & Fund Flows: Assist in the preparation of fund flows and cash repatriation to investors, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
- Develop Waterfall Models: Create and maintain waterfall models in compliance with investment cases, ensuring accurate distribution calculations.
- Drive Process Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing financial processes and systems, contributing to continuous improvement within the team.
- Engage in Board Activities: Actively participate in board meetings, providing financial insights and supporting decision-making processes.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor\’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Professional Experience: Have approximately 3 years of experience working in private equity, either in-house or within a service organisation.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Lux GAAP and proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with Investran, Agresso, efiscalease, and Power BI is advantageous.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Nordic languages and German would be an asset.
- Organisational Skills: Show strong organisational skills with a structured approach to personal work, supporting a collaborative team dynamic.
- Communication Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
