We’re working with an international banking organisation looking to hire a Senior Linux, AIX & Oracle Database Administrator to join their infrastructure team. This is a hands-on role supporting mission-critical banking and finance platforms, with a particular focus on Oracle environments, Linux/AIX administration, and core banking systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, security and scalability of critical platforms within a highly regulated environment.
The role:
- Administer and optimise Oracle databases within critical banking platforms
- Manage and maintain Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) and AIX environments
- Perform upgrades, patching, tuning and performance optimisation across infrastructure and database layers
- Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes using RMAN and Data Guard
- Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot production issues
- Automate routine administration tasks through scripting and tooling
- Ensure compliance with security, governance and regulatory standards
- Participate in incident response and on-call support for production systems
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience in Oracle DBA administration, including RAC, ASM and performance tuning
- Solid hands-on Linux and AIX administration experience
- Experience supporting Oracle environments within banking or financial services
- Strong SQL, PL/SQL and Unix scripting capability
- Experience with shell scripting and automation tools
- Understanding of enterprise monitoring and logging tools
- Familiarity with ITIL environments and change management processes
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills
Highly desirable:
- Experience supporting Oracle Flexcube environments
- Exposure to Oracle ERP platforms
- Experience within highly regulated financial environments
