Rose Bruford College is seeking an Assistant Student Life Manager to join our Student Life team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced student support professional who is passionate about preventative practice, student success and creating positive student experiences. Working closely with the Head of Student Life, you will play a key role in coordinating student support services, promoting early intervention, and helping students access the right support at the right time. You will work across the student journey, supporting initiatives that enhance wellbeing, belonging, engagement, continuation and academic success.

About the Role

The Assistant Student Life Manager is a senior operational role responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of Student Life services.

  • Coordinate early intervention support for students identified through attendance, engagement, wellbeing or academic concerns.
  • Manage a caseload of students requiring wellbeing, welfare and pastoral support.
  • Support students through challenges including mental health concerns, financial hardship, accommodation issues and wider welfare matters.
  • Coordinate Fitness to Study processes, support plans and follow-up actions.
  • Deliver and develop student wellbeing campaigns, awareness initiatives and engagement activities.
  • Support the planning and delivery of Welcome Week and transition programmes.
  • Work with academic colleagues to improve student engagement, belonging, continuation and success.
  • Monitor student support trends and contribute to service improvements and preventative initiatives.

About You

  • Experience working within higher education student services or a related support environment.
  • Experience supporting students experiencing wellbeing, welfare or pastoral concerns.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
  • A commitment to inclusion, student success and continuous improvement.
