I am seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Residential Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join a fantastic team based in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will provide vital administrative and secretarial support to conveyancing solicitors, ensuring smooth and efficient handling of residential property transactions. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and draft legal documents, correspondence, and contracts related to residential property transactions.
- Manage conveyancing case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, surveyors, and other relevant parties to facilitate the conveyancing process.
- Arrange appointments, meetings, and deadlines for conveyancing solicitors.
- Maintain and update case management systems and track progress of property transactions.
- Assist solicitors with the preparation and submission of contracts, searches, and other legal documents.
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and post.
- Manage billing and timesheets related to conveyancing cases.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the conveyancing process.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
- Proven experience as a legal secretary, preferably within residential conveyancing or property law.
- Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures and legal terminology.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using legal case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and email systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
