We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team of mortgage brokers. The successful candidate will assist our Compliance Department in ensuring our mortgage and protection advice services comply with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
This role would suit someone who is looking to further their career in compliance oversight and monitoring. Experience as a compliance officer preferred but not essential, however, experience within the mortgage market is essential with a minimum of 2 years as a mortgage and protection adviser.
Key Responsibilities:- Compliance Monitoring: Assist with regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and findings. Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Training and Support: Provide support to brokers on compliance-related matters. Report training concerns to the Training and Development Manager for delivery of remedial compliance training.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
- Customer Interaction: Assist with any complaint investigations or queries related to compliance issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay updated with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
- Education: CeMAP or equivalent preferred but not essential.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Experience: Previous experience in a compliance role for a minimum of 2 years is required or a mortgage adviser role. Knowledge of mortgage and protection advice industry is essential.
