Are you searching for a career where no two days are the same? Housing Repairs are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Builder to join our in-house repairs team. In this role, you will spend your day undertaking a variety of repairs to our Council’s housing stock. As you will be visiting various properties, you will require excellent customer service skills in order to effectively communicate with our customers.
Most of your work will be undertaken in tenanted properties, but you may also be required to work in empty properties, to undertake work to get these ready for new tenants.
We’re looking for an individual who has experience of:
- Working in social housing
- Undertaking repairs in tenanted properties
- Working in a team
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in brickwork, roofing and groundworks
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Be positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Have a flexible approach to meet the needs of a demanding service
- Be someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours
What we offer:
- Fantastic holiday entitlement of 28 days a year (plus bank holidays)
- Hand tool allowance of £483.08, pro rata and paid on a quarterly basis

Successfully shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a short practical interview, where they will be required to bring their own hand tools to complete a variety of tasks that will evidence their suitability for the role. Power tools can be provided if needed. Candidates who pass the practical stage will then progress to a formal interview immediately afterwards.
