(Offered Initially, on a one-year contract. With an opportunity for a permanent full-time role if successful). Mid way through a £40 million regeneration programme, Broxtowe is looking for an experienced and confident leader of activities and projects to come and join our growing and dynamic Economic Development and Regeneration service. You will work with colleagues, businesses and partners to drive forward programmes, projects and initiatives which improve the local economy and businesses within it. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, perhaps someone who has supported businesses in the past or worked in a dynamic growing company or small team where new ideas and practices are brought forward and made to work. The post holder will oversee the next phase of our journey – how we consolidate and build a service based around the work already undertaken and assets under development. For example, the post holder will work to shape the identity of the Broxtowe Local Enterprise Agency – how businesses and the Council can work jointly to secure growth and prosperity. Broxtowe is also the first Council in the Country to issue notices under High Street Rental Auctions powers and the candidate will be working to bring abandoned businesses premises back into economic use. The successful candidate will support for inward investment promotions and work with partners to strengthen enterprise and business support. We\’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Negotiation and persuasion displaying credibility with businesses and investors alike.
  • Day to day project management and project development activity including both capital and revenue budgets with a particular focus on business support,
  • Promotion and marketing
  • Using government funding and all the criteria for managing it
  • Information tracking and measuring success towards targets
