We are recruiting a Venue Technician to support The Spotlight’s busy events and entertainment programmes. The role involves technical operation for a range of events including cinema, conferences and private functions.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sound, lighting and stage equipment according to the venue’s programme.
- Rig set‑up and ensure technical aspects of productions run smoothly.
- Supervise casual technicians during events.
- Provide customer‑facing support to members of the public.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years experience as a professional theatre technician in a multifunctional venue.
- Knowledge of sound, lighting, set building and stage management.
- In‑depth knowledge of health and safety issues.
- Strong communication skills, team player and able to work flexibly.
- Electrical installation and formal backstage technical qualifications are desirable.
Essential Skills
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Flexibility in duties and working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- First Aid at work training (training will be provided if necessary).
- Fire Marshal training (training will be provided if necessary).
- Strong logistical skills.
- Fluent English communication.
