We are recruiting a Venue Technician to support The Spotlight’s busy events and entertainment programmes. The role involves technical operation for a range of events including cinema, conferences and private functions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain sound, lighting and stage equipment according to the venue’s programme.
  • Rig set‑up and ensure technical aspects of productions run smoothly.
  • Supervise casual technicians during events.
  • Provide customer‑facing support to members of the public.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least three years experience as a professional theatre technician in a multifunctional venue.
  • Knowledge of sound, lighting, set building and stage management.
  • In‑depth knowledge of health and safety issues.
  • Strong communication skills, team player and able to work flexibly.
  • Electrical installation and formal backstage technical qualifications are desirable.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent customer care skills.
  • Flexibility in duties and working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • First Aid at work training (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Fire Marshal training (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Strong logistical skills.
  • Fluent English communication.
