As demand for our surveying services continues to grow, we're looking to connect with an experienced Tree Safety Surveyor / Arboricultural Consultant who wants to play a key role in developing the consultancy side of our business.
This isn't an urgent vacancy or simply another surveying role. We're looking for the right person to help us build a professional consultancy service alongside our established tree surgery business, creating long‑term opportunities for both our clients and the successful applicant.
The Role
Working across domestic, commercial and public sector clients, you'll carry out a wide range of tree inspections and surveys, providing practical, professional advice and producing high-quality reports. You’ll become the face of our consultancy division, helping clients manage their trees safely while identifying future management requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Tree Safety Inspections & Risk Assessments
- Tree Surveys for Schools, Commercial Estates, Councils, Woodlands & More
- Advising Clients on Tree Management & Best Practice
- Building Long‑term Relationships with Clients
Additional Opportunities
Depending on your experience, you may also undertake:
- Insurance‑related Tree Inspections
- Subsidence Investigations
- Detailed Arboricultural Reports
- BS5837 Surveys and Reports
- Woodland Management Advice
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience carrying out tree inspections and arboricultural surveys
- Has excellent tree identification and defect recognition skills
- Can confidently communicate with clients and provide practical advice
- Can manage their own workload and appointments alongside the office
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Wants to help build and grow a consultancy department, not simply fill another surveying role
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of BS3998
- Experience working with schools, local authorities, commercial estates or housing associations
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary; based on experience and qualifications
- Company Pension
- Ongoing Professional Development and Training
- Modern Equipment and Software
- Flexible, varied workload
- Friendly, family‑run business with over 25 years' experience
- Genuine opportunity to shape and grow our consultancy division
Why Join BROWNS?
Unlike many consultancy businesses, we're an established tree surgery contractor with over 25 years of practical industry experience. Our consultancy team works closely alongside our operational teams, providing practical, real‑world advice backed by hands‑on arboricultural knowledge. As demand for our surveying services grows, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the future of this part of the business while developing your own career within an ambitious, expanding company.
