We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Payroll Administrator. You will report to the Group Payroll Manager and will assist with the end-to-end payroll function for our 1,300 weekly and monthly paid employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate end-to-end processing of payroll including starters/leavers, journals, month end, year end, wage arrestments, holiday calculations, pension payments, resolving pay queries and dealing with external agencies including HMRC.
  • Ensure legal compliance across all payrolls and function, ensuring implementation of effective controls and procedures.
  • Continuous improvement of all payroll processes.
  • Departmental communication and effective collaboration with HR personnel throughout the Group.
  • Ensure that robust procedures are in place and that these are regularly monitored and adhered to.
  • Administration of pension schemes and salary sacrifice schemes.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of the Senior Payroll Administrator are:

  • Experience in equivalent role.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK/Scottish payroll legislation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong and proven organisational and planning skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-moving business environment.
  • Formal payroll qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of Felixipay preferred.
  • Relationship management is essential in this role as you will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to commute/relocate: Prestwick KA9 2NS or Sanquhar DG4 6RB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
