Brownlee Cale are seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee and coordinate design activities on a variety of construction projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery.
- Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and external design consultants to coordinate technical information.
- Review design drawings and specifications for buildability, compliance, and value engineering.
- Chair design meetings, prepare design schedules, and maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet CDM regulations and planning/building control requirements.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry (residential, commercial, or industrial projects).
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning policies, and construction methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple design packages and interface with stakeholders across disciplines.
- Proficiency with design and document management software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc.).
- HNC/HND/Degree in Build or Construction.
