We are hiring! Browne Jacobson are currently in the market for a Senior Associate to join our growing Financial & Professional Risks (“FPR”) team, which acts for insurers, brokers and other financial services and insurance sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful and ambitious team which works on a range of professional indemnity, D&O, FI, and coverage matters.
The role will involve working with London Market insurers and reinsurers on large international losses across a number of different classes of business including property and specie, FI PI, K&R and trade credit. The post requires the candidate to develop good working relationships across the FPR team and with colleagues from the firm's other practice areas.
Specific duties of the role include:
- Working with other senior members of the team, advising insurance and reinsurance companies and Syndicates on policy coverage issues and disputes across various classes of business.
- Reporting to clients in compliance with exacting client service and performance standards, especially demonstrating an aptitude for accurate reserving and setting out strategies clearly and executing those strategies pro-actively.
- Handling litigation and arbitration, including Bermuda Form.
- Applying commercial and cost-effective claims solutions, including engaging in ADR (especially mediation), expert and KC determinations, and engaging in all forms of conventional without prejudice negotiations.
- Contributing to the team’s marketing and business development efforts in building a leading London Market insurance practice.
