We're looking for a talented Senior Associate to join our growing contentious construction team and help service current workflows whilst developing this exciting area of our practice.
The role involves being at the heart of our expanding contentious construction team, which continues to grow with significant work in the international arbitration arena. Based from our London office, you'll work on construction and engineering disputes of significant size and complexity, relating to large national and international projects, with the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across all our UK offices. This role offers excellent levels of responsibility, high calibre work and a supportive environment in which to grow your career and develop your construction practice.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing specialist advice in all aspects of contentious building, construction and engineering work, including the resolution of problems in construction law and the promotion of initiatives to this end.
- Mastering complex regulations and procedures to advise clients with careful attention to detail, whilst supporting other areas of the practice where relevant — such as providing technical support to our professional indemnity team.
- Contributing to business development through marketing activities including seminars, lectures, workshops and written content, whilst consistently meeting financial targets and achieving strong chargeable time performance.
What we're looking for:
- Solid experience in contentious work areas, combined with commercial awareness and a common sense approach to problem solving, with the ability to follow through on ideas for improving service to clients.
- The ability to provide and communicate practical, commercial advice in a straightforward manner, assimilating facts quickly and working effectively towards tight timescales.
- An enquiring mind, attentive to detail, with a willingness to accept new challenges, manage your own time effectively, and engage with marketing and social events to maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
