Here at Browne Jacobson, our Knowledge Management department are recruiting for an experienced L&D Designer to join the team on a permanent basis. Based out of either our Birmingham, Manchester or Nottingham offices, the L&D Designer's primarily focus will be on the creation of e-training, building high quality content, leveraging technology and using data to measure what works.
The successful candidate will need to be someone who is IT literate and confident, whilst being open to the use of AI products selected by the firm. The opportunity would suit someone with knowledge of L&D and ideally with a professional services background. They should be proactive, creative and take ownership for their workload, adapting readily to changing or conflicting priorities with a positive mindset and a can-do attitude. We are looking for someone with a growth mindset who is resilient and open-minded. The successful candidate would also be curious about legal tech developments and would proactively role model and champion the usage of emerging technology, such as AI.
What technical skills are required for someone to be successful and enjoy the role?
- Experience working in L&D would be desirable
- Demonstrable visual design skills and a strong working knowledge of instructional design principles, however acquired - whether through formal qualifications, professional experience, self-directed learning, or a combination of these
- Experience using platforms such as Articulate, Synthesia and Docebo.
- Creative, able to transform complex information into engaging and accessible learning experiences
- Proficiency in creating multimedia content including videos, infographics and animations
- An interest in working with AI, such as Legora, has a positive mindset to be an engaged user of AI platforms
- Knowledge of user experience, design principles and accessibility compliance
- Ability to storyboard and write scripts for learning content
- Ability to work independently, prioritising tasks, setting deadlines, balancing workloads and managing time to meet deadlines
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Accuracy in all written and verbal learning offerings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with a diverse audience
- Ability to stay up to date with learning and knowledge themes and trends
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in this rapidly evolving field
