We're looking for a talented Associate to join our market‑leading Technical Claims and Social Care team in Nottingham, working at the forefront of complex defendant litigation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join and develop within a progressive and highly regarded practice. You'll work on some of the most interesting and challenging areas of defendant insurance litigation, including matters involving adult and children social care, serious injury, human rights, discrimination and data breaches. You will report to and work alongside experienced and highly rated Partners and Senior Associates across our litigation and advisory team. The role involves working with prestigious clients on stimulating, complex and often reputationally significant matters.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing issues around policy coverage, legal liability and how to value a claim
  • Managing and evaluating medical records and expert reports
  • Managing your own portfolio of claims and collaborating with other lawyers on task‑based work on complex matters
  • Driving business development activity, including client events and the planning and delivery of seminars and training programmes – both in person and online

What We're Looking For

  • A sound understanding of civil litigation procedure and the CPR, combined with strong legal research and analytical skills and the ability to apply legal principles to complex factual scenarios
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, accurate legal documents and engage confidently with clients, experts, counsel and opponents
  • An ambitious and intellectually curious mindset, with a genuine enthusiasm for the team's subject matter and a clear commitment to professional development
