The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.
We are seeking a Court of Protection lawyer to manage a caseload of Court of Protection matters relating to deprivation of liberty, welfare disputes and complex medical treatment cases (including some advocacy) primarily for the NHS, with opportunities to work for independent sector health and social care clients and local authorities.
Experience in dealing with cases under the inherent jurisdiction and medical treatment disputes concerning children and/or mental health law would also be highly desirable.
Our practice covers cases nationally, and the role can be based in any of our offices. You will work in a team that provides a range of high-quality legal services on complex matters.
The department also conducts a range of other health and social care advisory issues, including:
- a caseload of approximately 300 inquests per year
- mental health
- mental capacity
- safeguarding
- access and funding disputes
- continuing healthcare/individual funding requests
- information governance/DPA/FOI
- judicial review
- Human Rights Act claims
Experience in any of these additional areas, whilst not essential, would be an advantage and there will be opportunities for successful candidates to develop these areas of work as well.
