We act for insurers, brokers and other insurance sector clients, handling complex and high‑profile cases across the legal, financial services, property, technology, media and business consultancy sectors.
The role involves advising and representing policyholders in contentious matters before the County Court, High Court, TCC, commercial courts and under the Financial Ombudsman Service and other consumer redress schemes. You will tackle challenging and novel areas of professional liability and insurance law, including scope of duty, breach, causation, quantum and complex policy liability issues.
Reporting to insurer clients in compliance with exacting service standards is essential, demonstrating aptitude for accurate reserving, clear case planning and proactive strategy execution. You will apply sound knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), including costs management, funding, Part 36 offers, pre‑action protocols, interim measures, disclosure and expert witness instructions. Staying abreast of civil procedure reforms and pilot schemes such as the Online Court, Fixed Recoverable Costs and Disclosure Pilot schemes is expected.
The role also requires delivering commercial and cost‑effective claims solutions through ADR, expert and QC determinations, arbitrations, adjudications and all forms of conventional negotiations. You will also contribute to the team’s marketing and business development efforts.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful and ambitious team which works on a range of professional indemnity, D&O, FI, and coverage matters in both the traditional and emerging sectors.
