We're looking for a Senior Associate to join our growing Agriculture/Rural and Estates team, advising a diverse range of clients across a broad spectrum of rural property and agricultural matters.
The role involves being part of a consistently growing Agriculture/Rural and Estates team, working alongside Legal 500 and Chambers‑recognised leading lawyers in the sector. Our clients include landed estates, farmers, rural landowners, institutional and charitable landowners, and agricultural businesses.
Our work spans:
- Agricultural tenancies
- Rural land sales and acquisitions
- Estate management and succession
- Sporting rights
- Rural diversification projects
- Environmental stewardship schemes
- Renewable energy projects on rural land
- Disposals of land for development via options, promotion agreements, and overage arrangements
The growth across each of these areas means you'll have the opportunity to work across a genuinely broad range of rural and estates matters. This role can be based out of our Nottingham, Birmingham, Exeter or Manchester offices.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing advice on time and to a high standard of technical competence across a broad range of rural property and agricultural matters, including agricultural tenancies, rural land transactions, estate management and diversification projects, and delivering exceptional client service.
- Taking responsibility for running your own caseload, working alongside more senior members of the team on complex transactions and projects, and supervising more junior colleagues where appropriate, including associates, trainees and apprentices.
- Actively and enthusiastically undertaking business development and marketing within the rural and agricultural sector, including speaking at events and seminars and seeking out and attending networking events, agricultural shows, and industry forums.
