We're looking for a talented Associate to join our market-leading Technical Claims team, based in either our Birmingham or Nottingham office.
The role involves joining a progressive and highly regarded practice at the forefront of complex defendant litigation, working with prestigious clients on some of the most interesting and challenging matters in defendant insurance – spanning serious injury, short and long tail disease, EL and PL claims, and matters involving human rights, discrimination and data breaches.
You’ll be part of a high-performing and collegiate team, working alongside experienced Partners and Senior Associates, with every opportunity to learn, develop and truly thrive in the role.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing issues around policy coverage, legal liability and how to value a claim
- Managing and evaluating medical records and expert reports
- Managing your own portfolio of claims whilst collaborating with other lawyers on task-based work across complex and high-value matters
- Driving business development activity, including planning and delivering client events, seminars and training programmes – both in person and online

- A sound understanding of civil litigation procedure and the CPR, combined with strong legal research and analytical skills and the ability to apply legal principles to complex, varied factual scenarios
- Exceptional attention to detail, the confidence to work on your own initiative and the ability to advise clients clearly on complex technical aspects of process and procedure
- An ambitious and intellectually curious mind, with a genuine enthusiasm for the subject matter and a clear commitment to your own professional development
