We're looking for a Practice Assistant to join our Business & Professional Risk team, providing exceptional workflow management and client service support to our fee earners.

The role

As a Practice Assistant, you'll act as the single point of contact for fee earners, taking ownership of all tasks through to completion - whether by carrying these out yourself or by managing workflow through Team Assistants and Shared Services. You'll provide a high-quality, comprehensive organisational service to fee earners and deliver exceptional client service at every stage.

What you'll be doing

  • Building strong client relationships by becoming an active part of client care β€” handling queries, taking and making client-related calls, and ensuring all correspondence is dealt with promptly and professionally.
  • Providing comprehensive administrative and financial support, including managing diaries, coordinating travel and meetings, and taking responsibility for the preparation and completion of complex billing to the highest standards of accuracy.
  • Managing priorities and workloads to ensure deadlines are met, maintaining client and matter data within case management systems, and ensuring compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures including Lexcel and Information Security.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, combined with a proven aptitude for producing documents and client communications of the highest standard.
  • Experience of working in a legal or professional services environment is desirable, giving you the confidence to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, client-facing role.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach β€” you'll be a key point of contact for fee earners and clients, and will readily support colleagues across the department wherever needed.
