We're looking for a Practice Assistant to act as the single point of contact for fee earners, delivering high-quality workflow management and exceptional client service.
Please note: This is a 12-month secondment opportunity open to internal Browne Jacobson staff only.
The role
As a Practice Assistant, you'll oversee all day-to-day tasks for your allocated fee earner team, managing workflow by utilising Team Assistants and Shared Services where appropriate, whilst retaining full ownership and accountability for all delegated tasks through to completion. The role sits within the Legal Support Services department, reporting to the Practice Support Manager, and is based in our Nottingham office.
What You'll Be Doing
- Client relationship management β acting as a key point of contact for external clients, handling queries using your initiative and managing client calls both directly and through the firm's switchboard system (MoneyPenny), escalating to the relevant fee earner where necessary.
- Administrative support β overseeing the opening and closing of files, supervising filing and record-keeping, and quality checking all output from Shared Services, Team Assistants and other relevant teams before it reaches fee earners.
- Financial administration β completing complex billing requests to the highest standard of accuracy, proactively working with fee earners to highlight WIP, aged debt, client monies and financial reporting, and effectively supporting progress.
