We’re looking for a talented Associate to join our Criminal Compliance & Regulatory team and play a pivotal role in high-profile public inquiry work.

The Role

You’ll be joining one of the strongest teams specialising in regulatory work in the Midlands, acting for clients nationally. You’ll be expected to take on responsibility from the outset, supported by the supervision, training and guidance you need to maximise your potential. This is a genuine opportunity to become part of a successful and expanding unit, with the chance to get involved in marketing and growing the practice.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advising a large public sector organisation in respect of a public inquiry and its responsibilities as a Core Participant and Material Provider.
  • Supporting the coordinated delivery of appropriate responses to Rule 9 requests sent by the Inquiry team.
  • Separately assisting in support of a major 4-month Inquest.
  • Advising on the disclosure of documents to a public inquiry and contributing to the wider CCR team on a range of challenging and varied regulatory matters.

What we’re looking for:

A flexible, ambitious and results-oriented lawyer who is an enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills — someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings energy and focus to everything they do. The ability to assimilate complex information quickly and accurately, with excellent attention to detail and a talent for explaining intricate procedures clearly to clients.

We offer a hybrid working model to help you balance your professional and personal commitments, and our comprehensive benefits package includes private medical insurance, pension contributions, an employee assistance programme, and a range of wellbeing initiatives. Enhanced parental leave is also available, reflecting our commitment to supporting you through every stage of your career and life. Many of our people work flexibly in some way, and we’re open to considering how we can accommodate flexible working arrangements alongside role requirements. If this is important to you, please talk to us about it during the recruitment process. We’re a Disability Confident Employer and will offer an interview to disabled applicants who best meet the minimum/essential criteria for the role.
