We're looking for a Senior Associate to join our Real Estate team in Manchester, focusing on high-quality transactional work across the health, care and life sciences sectors.

The role involves working as a transactional lawyer within our Real Estate department, handling a broad range of matters including development, investment, acquisitions and disposals, site assembly, landlord and tenant, secured lending, and real estate support on corporate transactions. You will work with a diverse mix of clients — from global corporations, investors and developers to lenders and public sector bodies — many of whom operate in the health, care, later living and life sciences sectors. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues across our wider Health and Life Sciences group, including those in commercial health, banking and corporate, and will be expected to contribute to business development and the supervision of more junior team members.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing timely, high-quality legal advice across a broad range of commercial real estate matters, managing your own caseload while supporting partners and other senior colleagues.
  • Playing an active role in business development — including planning and delivering seminars, attending and speaking at healthcare conferences, writing articles for sector trade journals, and working alongside the marketing team on client pitches and tenders.
  • Supervising and developing junior members of the team whilst supporting the delivery of exceptional client service.
  • Excellent experience in commercial real estate transactions, with the ability to provide clear, concise and commercially relevant advice, delivering legally and commercially effective solutions for clients.
  • An effective communicator and negotiator with strong interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain harmonious and professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A dynamic, ambitious and results-oriented team player with a high level of personal commitment and initiative, and a genuine interest in developing client relationships and growing the business.
