Our highly regarded Tax & Share Incentives team is recognised by both Chambers and Legal 500. The team currently comprises seven members, including one Partner and one Legal Director, and is based across our Birmingham and Nottingham offices. We work collaboratively with colleagues in all of our UK offices, supporting a diverse client base from individuals to multi-national corporates and large public sector bodies.
The role involves advising on corporate tax matters, including providing legal support on share and asset sales and purchases. You will also advise on employee share schemes and employment tax, including legal drafting and technical advice. The role involves providing advice on real estate tax issues, such as SDLT (technical advice and compliance) and VAT, as well as supporting clients with a variety of other tax issues as they arise, including stamp duty. You will be expected to deliver advice promptly and to a high standard of technical competence, manage your own files with support from senior team members as required, and assist senior team members with more complex transactions and advice. Achieving budgeted hours and fees, upholding our "investors in clients" principles to deliver exceptional client service, and undertaking any other duties as required, commensurate with the level of the post, are also key aspects of the role.
