We are hiring! Our Public Law team is in the market for an Associate to join the firm on a permanent basis. Based out of either Birmingham, Cardiff or Nottingham, this is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team of administrative and public law lawyers, working across the full range of environmental law matters with a dedicated focus on environmental issues for public sector clients, regulators and private sector clients.

Day-to-day, you will advise on high-profile, nationally significant matters including nature conservation, biodiversity net gain, pollution, waste, remediation, water, energy and broader environmental regulatory issues for a broad client base.

The successful candidate will have experience advising on environmental law — including areas such as nature conservation, environmental permitting, waste and pollution, contaminated land, water regulation or energy and infrastructure — as well as regulatory compliance in an environmental context. Experience in statutory interpretation, environmental due diligence in support of corporate or real estate transactions, and advising on public law risk would be a distinct advantage.

You will bring excellent analytical and communication skills, the ability to engage with clients at all levels and a proven capacity to work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will be flexible, ambitious and results-oriented, an effective communicator who builds strong client and colleague relationships, with a sharp attention to detail and a commercial mindset.
