This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team working on a broad range of high-quality construction matters, with a primary focus on non-contentious work. The role offers excellent levels of responsibility, exposure to complex and varied instructions, and the chance to develop your career within a collaborative and supportive environment.

What does the role involve?

As an Associate within our Construction Team, you will provide high-quality legal advice to a diverse client base, delivering practical and commercially focused solutions. You will be involved in a broad range of construction and engineering matters and will be expected to:

  • Advise clients on a variety of building, construction and engineering projects, providing clear and commercially focused guidance.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex construction law issues, helping to identify effective and pragmatic solutions.
  • Interpret and apply detailed regulations, contractual provisions and procedures, explaining legal concepts clearly and confidently to clients.
  • Support other practice areas where appropriate, including providing technical construction expertise to our Professional Indemnity Team.
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines, drawing on your commercial awareness and problem-solving skills to support clients and colleagues.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives, including presenting seminars, delivering workshops, writing articles, blogs and client updates, and helping to raise the profile of the team.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities aligned to your personal development goals, with support to build your expertise and progress your career.

What are we looking for?

We are keen to hear from talented construction lawyers who are looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking and ambitious team.

  • Experience working on non-contentious construction matters.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a practical, common-sense approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice to clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build trusted client relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to quickly assimilate complex information.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset, with a willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
  • An interest in business development and networking, including attendance at client, industry and firm events.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues across the firm.
