We are currently recruiting an outgoing and friendly support worker to join our small team looking after a 42-year-old gentleman with learning and physical disabilities providing support on a one-to-one basis and in pairs. Our client is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair. He has quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
You will be experienced and required to provide personal care and support to our client within his own home. Our ideal candidate will be confident, resilient and have an outgoing outlook. Our client really enjoys listening to music and watching DVDs, going for walks, going to the pub for lunch, going on the wheelchair adapted swing, swimming, cinema, MK theatre.
The perfect candidate will have:
- Experience in support and care work including ceiling track hoists
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour
- A flexible approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
- Cleaning driving licence
- Experience of working with learning and physical disabilities
- Able to swim
Shifts are 8am-3pm, 3pm-10.30pm, 7pm-8am (10.30pm-8am is a sleep-in).
Pay: Monday to Friday - day shifts £15/hr and £16.50/hr for weekends. A full clean driving licence, insurance and access to a car are essential.
