An excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Site Manager to provide key leadership for projects in the Northeast region. The position is to join a growing main contracting business based in the Durham area with a strong pipeline of work through 2027 and beyond.

The role will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Site Management / Supervisory team and control of sub‑contractor activity across the project. Depending on value it may either be as a site lead or as no. 2 on larger projects. Project exposure includes education, commercial offices, and industrial / commercial new build.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support of the operational delivery team.
  • Liaise and manage sub‑contractors on site as required.
  • Report directly to the Senior Management team on daily performance, proactively addressing delivery issues as they arise.
  • Handle tough negotiations and the pressure of a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ensure company HS&E and quality standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
  • Quality management – ensure high standards of quality are achieved, addressing any issues with sub‑contractors / trades.
  • Client management / liaison.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Proven track record operating in a lead Site Management position within the commercial build sector, with particular interest in education and leisure projects.
  • Strong process management skills.
  • Qualification to a minimum of HNC / HND level (ideally degree level).
  • Valid SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS certification.
  • Strong IT / paperwork skills.
  • Good communication skills.
