The primary role of the Logistics Co-ordinator is to successfully supervise and manage the company’s waste collection operation with a fleet of over 40 LGV vehicles and over 50 LGV drivers. You will be working in a busy Logistics office which is tasked with delivering a world class service to our large customer base (over 4000 customers) in and around the Staffordshire and Cheshire area.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Plan and co-ordinate logistical operations with customers and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring vehicles are routed efficiently on a daily basis to deliver a world class service
- Interpreting and reacting to business information (KPI’s) to increase productivity
- First line confirmation of all completed jobs alongside comprehensively de-briefing drivers at the end of their shift
- Ensuring that the operation is fully compliant with all industry related legislation
- Making sure that the company’s operating software (Waste Logics) is utilised correctly
- Assisting in creating a positive and safety minded culture within the team
- Any other ad hoc transport related duties as required
- Ensuring service levels and KPI’s are achieved consistently
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with those involved in the logistics process alongside all departments across the business
Key Skills
- Previous experience in a similar role/environment is essential
- A transport related qualification is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills are essential
- Professional in their approach to dealing with all customers and colleagues; communicating confidently both over the phone and face-to-face
- Solution orientated with strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and use of methodical approaches
- Strong administration skills including a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
- Capacity to multitask
- Assertive, reliable, resilient and welcome to change
