In the pursuit of our vision to be the most valuable spirits brand in the world, the JD Assistant Brand Manager (ABM) supports the delivery of profitable growth for the Jack Daniel's trademark in the UK. The ABM assists the Senior Brand Manager in driving long‑term growth by balancing innovation, consumer‑centricity, and commercial excellence across the UK. This role supports portfolio management, including new product development and innovation pipelines, and helps build brand relevance through meaningful experiences. It also partners with global brand teams and agencies on the McLaren F1 partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local and global teams to support the definition of the multi‑year product roadmap and identify white‑space opportunities.
  • Support the end‑to‑end development of high‑impact innovations that align with brand equity and financial goals.
  • Help design and oversee the end‑to‑end consumer journey, ensuring consistent, premium brand interactions across all touchpoints to drive loyalty, meaning, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the JD Global Team and agencies to implement UK activations for the McLaren partnership and evaluate results to inform future implementations.
  • Support the annual brand planning process and budget management, optimizing resource allocation to maximize ROI across global and local initiatives.
  • Continuously analyze market trends and competitor movements, synthesizing external insights to pivot strategies and foster a consumer‑centric culture within the team.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Customer Marketing, and Finance teams to translate brand strategies into actionable commercial plans that drive volume and value share in both on‑trade and off‑trade channels.
  • Participate in monthly brand performance reviews, including competitive set commentary.
  • Manage A&P tasks: raising purchase orders, recording, monitoring, and maintaining spends to stay on budget.
  • Own ongoing post‑evaluations of brand activities so learnings can be applied to the planning cycle to drive marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Jack Daniel's Global Team and key cross‑functional counterparts (Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Marketing, Finance, Category, Insights, Legal, and Compliance).
  • Initiate and maintain close, consistent communication with external agencies.
  • Champion the brand internally by organising events and tastings to promote the Jack Daniel's portfolio.
  • Act as a role model of Brown‑Forman values.
  • Collaborate with production and the global team to ensure UK needs are fulfilled.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in marketing, either in‑house or at an agency.
  • Good knowledge of P&L and budgeting.
  • Experience presenting to various stakeholders.
  • IT literate – proficiency in MS Office applications and Google applications.
  • A people’s person with strong empathic skills; ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Passion and drive to learn.
  • Collaborative team player; adaptable and flexible.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, presentations, written).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
