Meaningful Work From Day One
In the pursuit of our vision to be the most valuable spirits brand in the world, the JD Assistant Brand Manager (ABM) is responsible for supporting the delivery of profitable growth for the Jack Daniel’s trademark in the UK in a meaningful way. You will assist the Senior Brand Manager (SBM) in driving long‑term growth by balancing innovation, consumer‑centricity, and commercial excellence across the UK. This role supports the implementation of portfolio management, including the NPD and innovation pipeline, while helping to build brand relevance through meaningful experiences. Additionally, you will partner with the SBM in managing relationships with global brand teams and agencies regarding the development and activation of our global partnership with the McLaren F1 team.
What You Can Expect
- Brand strategy execution and implementation: Support day‑to‑day brand strategy execution and implement campaign initiatives.
- Portfolio Management & Innovation Support: Collaborate with local and global teams to support the definition of the multi‑year product roadmap. Assist in identifying white‑space opportunities and support the end‑to‑end development of high‑impact innovations that align with brand equity and financial goals.
- Consumer Experience & Journey: Help design and oversee the end‑to‑end consumer journey. Work to ensure consistent, premium brand interactions across all touchpoints to drive loyalty, meaning, and engagement.
- Global Partnership with McLaren: Collaborate with the JD Global Team and agencies managing the McLaren F1 partnership, to implement UK activations for McLaren in the trade and consumer space. Evaluate and assess results to inform future implementations.
- Brand Planning & Resource Allocation: Support the annual brand planning process and budget management. Help optimise resource allocation to maximise ROI across both global and local initiatives.
- Competitive Monitoring & Insights: Continuously analyse market trends and competitor movements. Synthesize external insights to pivot strategies and foster a consumer‑centric culture within the team.
- Commercial Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Customer Marketing, and Finance teams to translate brand strategies into actionable commercial plans that drive volume and value share in both on‑trade and off‑trade channels.
- Drive for Results: Help with monthly brand performance reviews—including competitive set commentary. Responsible for A & P management: raising POs, recording, monitoring, and maintaining spends at all times to stay on budget. Own ongoing post‑evaluations of brand activities so learnings can be applied to the planning cycle to drive marketing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Strategic Relationships & Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with the Jack Daniel’s Global Team. Work closely with key cross‑functional counterparts, including Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Marketing, Finance, Category, Insights, Legal, and Compliance. Initiate and maintain close, consistent communication with external agencies. Champion the brand internally by organising events and tastings to promote the Jack Daniel’s portfolio. Partner with production and the global team to ensure UK needs are fulfilled. Act as a role model of Brown‑Forman (B‑F) values.
What You Bring to the Table
- Previous experience working in marketing, either in‑house or at the agency side.
- Good knowledge of P&L and budgeting.
- Experience presenting to various stakeholders.
- IT literate – MS Office applications & Google applications.
- A people‑person and empathetic; ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Passion and drive to learn.
- Collaborative team player; adaptable and flexible.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
- Great communication skills (listening, presentations, written).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
