Vertex is currently recruiting for a Junior Estimator. This is a home-based role with occasional site visits as required. You will be reporting to the Senior Estimator, supporting the Bid and Pricing Team in the preparation and delivery of accurate, competitive and compliant tenders, quotations and proposals. You will assist with the coordination of tender enquiries, collection and review of subcontractor costs, pricing schedules and supporting documentation. The role provides an opportunity to develop estimating knowledge and commercial awareness within the facilities management and building services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of tenders and quotations.
- Review tender documents and help identify gaps, discrepancies and ambiguities within tender information and assist with the preparation of clarification questions.
- Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers and assist with gathering, reviewing and comparing quotations.
- Review quotations for completeness, scope compliance, exclusions and commercial accuracy.
- Support the estimating team with the calculation of labour, materials, plant, subcontractor and other associated contract costs.
- Maintain accurate tender folders, commercial information and supporting documentation.
- Assist with final submission checks to ensure bids are complete, accurate and submitted by the required deadline.
- Following contract award, collate and distribute relevant tender and handover information across the business.
- Liaise professionally with internal teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Undertake site visits, asset reviews and validation exercises where required.
- Undertake general administrative duties in support of the Bid and Pricing Team.
The hours of work average 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Flexibility is required in order to complete the duties associated with the role.
