Overview
The International Centre for Life is a thriving science hub in the heart of Newcastle. Its purpose is to inspire everyone to explore and enjoy science and to provide a world class science hub where life enhancing engagement, research and clinical treatment can thrive.
The festive season is just around the corner, and we are looking for performers to help bring the festive season to life. As one of Santa’s favourite elves, you will be at the heart of the Christmas experience—creating magical moments for children and families through performance, interaction, and festive fun.
Responsibilities
- You will greet and engage with visitors of all ages while staying in character as one of Santa’s elves.
- You will take part in a short festive show that includes fun demonstrations and storytelling.
- Share hot chocolates with excited children, and listen to their Christmas wishes.
Requirements
- Confident performers with strong stage presence and the ability to stay in character throughout the day.
- Excellent communication skills, including expressive body language; comfortable interacting with children and families in a busy environment.
- A warm, energetic personality and a great sense of humour are essential.
- Singing ability is a bonus, but not essential.
- You must be available throughout November and December, Wednesdays – Sundays.
- Costumes will be provided, plus training.
- Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check. Details of our DBS policy are available on request.
Details
- Closing Date: 23/09/2025
- Rate of Pay: £17.00 per hour dependent on experience
- Hours: 25 - 35 hours per week (Wednesday – Sunday) depending on business need from 10 November to 23 December.
