Responsibilities
- Reward Partnership & Advisory
- Lead reward partnership for Europe, advising on reward structures, pay decisions, incentives and benefits design.
- Translate global reward principles into practical regional frameworks aligned to people strategy and local regulatory requirements.
- Act as the regional link between US reward leadership and European stakeholders.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on job evaluation, pay positioning, retention approaches and competitive market practice.
- Governance & Compliance
- Establish and maintain governance for reward, incentives and benefits arrangements.
- Maintain a central register of incentive schemes with clear documentation and consistent governance.
- Partner with Risk & Compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory standards (including FCA expectations).
- Incentives & Variable Pay
- Review and rationalise bonus and incentive structures to increase transparency and alignment.
- Develop standardised incentive templates and governance processes.
- Support leaders in designing and implementing variable pay arrangements.
- Benefits Strategy & Oversight
- Review and evolve benefits provision across Europe, balancing teammate value, cost effectiveness and operational simplicity.
- Support harmonisation across legacy and acquired businesses while recognising local requirements.
- Strengthen governance and communication to improve teammate understanding and value realisation.
- Pay Governance & Benchmarking
- Support salary structure reviews and market‑aligned pay positioning.
- Use benchmarking and internal analytics to inform pay review, promotions and hiring decisions.
- Provide reward insight to senior leadership and Remuneration Committee discussions.
- Build greater transparency and consistency while maintaining necessary flexibility.
- Acquisition & Integration Support
- Lead reward and benefits due diligence relating to acquisitions.
- Assess integration risks, legacy arrangements and harmonisation opportunities.
- Support the transition of acquired businesses into structured European reward frameworks.
- Data, Insight & Reporting
- Produce high‑quality reward analysis, reporting and insights for business and regulatory needs.
- Use data to identify trends, risks and opportunities across pay, incentives and benefits.
- Support gender pay reporting and wider reward‑related analytics.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong, credible relationships across US Reward, Team Resources, Finance, Legal and business leadership teams.
- Manage priorities across a global/regional/local matrix environment with sound judgement and pragmatism.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in reward, compensation and/or benefits within complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of reward principles, benchmarking, pay review and benefits design.
- Experience operating in matrix environments with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to turn data into clear insight.
- Proven ability to build frameworks and governance for reward.
- Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence senior leaders.
- Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in regulated sectors (financial services, insurance, professional services).
Required Skills
- Experience in acquisitive or decentralised organisations.
- Exposure to European reward practices across multiple jurisdictions.
